Podcard: Greetings from Sin City
This podcast is meant to be a "digital postcard", i.e. instead of a conventional postcard I used a picture I had taken in Las Vegas and added an audio track. Hence, the term 'podcard' is a compound word consisting of 'podcast' and 'postcard'. To increase the learning effect when using podcasts as listening comprehension exercises in class, teachers may use a worksheet with tasks and questions facilitating the students' auding skills. For instance, one could implement the following exercises:
- Are these statements true or false? If false, correct the statements.
a. Paul is in Paris right now.
b. He is gambling a lot.
c. He needs to make money to pay his dues.
d. The hotel is famous for its rollercoaster.
e. The tower is twice as high as the original one. - Listen to the podcard once more and fill in the blanks.
